I bought my new Skechers for work. I needed a shoe that was comfortable on my feet. I stand at least 12 hours a day and these are like walking on a cloud.

My feet have not hurt since. TerryJune 6, Overall 3 Rated 3 stars out of 5. Comfort 5 Rated 5 stars out of 5. These shoes fit great. I bought these at the end of May so I could get my steps in for my "pandemic walks.

Just walking. I ordered another pair which I received a couple of weeks in August because the soles were too far gone after 3 months. I only ordered another pair because I didn't feel like searching for another well fitting pair of shoes.

But I won't be buying these again because 3 month of shoe life is wholly unacceptable. Pic shows new pair I just got on the left, 3 month old pair on the right. Greg, Zappos CustomerAugust 30, Style 5 Rated 5 stars out of 5.

I am a senior runner. In the past few years my feet have gotten wider, and I have thus needed larger size running shoes. This is the first time I have bought my shoes size 12 EE on line.First Name.

Email address:. The shoe retains Skechers Hyper Burst midsole, which is crazy light and resilient. Underneath is a Goodyear rubber outsole for enhanced durability and traction. This shoe begs you to burn some rubber, or just chill. Whatever your training plan calls for that day. According to Skechers, the additional rubber provides some extra traction and durability, as that was a concern with the Razor 3.

Skechers makes some damn fast, fun, and insanely light shoes. How light? To put it in perspective, I have run in spikes that were heavier than this trainer. Clearly this shoe will fly if you want it to, but its cushioned enough to be smooth and comfortable at easy paces as well.

To further set it apart from the more race-oriented Razor 3, Skechers increased the heel cushion in this shoe. It still encourages a midfoot strike, but its not a big deal if you land on your heels after miles of hills. I know this because I tried it. I took this shoe on a couple of easy runs and runs at near max-speed.

From easy day to tempo to even race day, this shoe can do it all. I never would have considered Skechers a serious running shoe brand prior to the Razor 3, but this shoe was a knockout. Incredible spec sheet and it was all in a simple package that got it done with no extra frills or gimmicks.

The original Razor 3 was a Hyper Burst midsole paired with an upper that was just enough to hold your foot on unfortunately it had a very distinctive aesthetic and many people were not a fan — including myself. I am still in shock at how light yet how cushioned they are. HyperBurst is an impressive material and it feels consistent from start to finish. The midsole feels incredibly smooth and consistent, and in combination with the upper, everything just stays out of the way so you can focus on your workout.

I found these great for post-run strides as there was no lag in getting up on my toes in these. BEN : Hyper Burst is back and better than ever.

The midsole is mostly unchanged, but it appears some small tweaks to the geometry have added a little more cushion in the heel area.First Name. Email address:. Well, like most good running companies do, they listened. The team over there did an outstanding job bringing this baby back to life, centering it around a more traditional running shoe upper one with actual higher eyelets! Midsole is tried and true Hyper Burst.

And in my opinion the best midsole in the game right now. Across the board, Skechers Performance is probably the most legit run brand right now. Like literally everyone before they try Skechers, I had some preconceived notions a bit snooty if I am being completely honest. Long story short, I was forced to reevaluate, as I was quickly won over by the Hyper Burst midsole in this shoe.

I was able to get about 25 miles in on these shoes through an assortment of short to mid distance training runs. Efforts spanned from Zone 1 aerobic recovery sessions up to a few hard and fast 10k efforts.

DAVE: For starters, the collared laceless heel is gone. Eyelets traveled North and you can actually lace this thing up like a normal running shoe. So now, without the extra movement of your ankles, you can truly feel the plain nasty power of the Hyper Burst midsole without wiggling around. Hyper Burst: I said it earlier.

To the Runner Who Judged My Skechers: You’re Missing Out on the GOrun Ride 8 Hyper

A very nice combo shoe smooth enough for easy days, and will give you some funkiness when you want it for Tempo or even fast enough for longer Vo2 max work. Toe-off: Explosive, and would you look at that— no carbon plate!

If you like forefoot pop like I do, giddy up! As I mentioned earlier, I PR-ed that route and, in the process, found this shoe to be light and responsive enough for tempo and threshold workouts, but with plenty of support and cushion for mid-long sessions miles.

The upper felt quite secure and there was no slippage in the heel area. The heel pull loop was also an underrated bonus the triathlete in me appreciates how quickly I could slip, sockless, into these on race day or during a brick session. The GOrun 7 had a knit upper, that to be blunt, sucked. It was bad enough that we skipped reviewing it. The new upper took this shoe from chump to champ. And I think she was being sincere, not snarky. Her most recent pair of Skechers had light-up soles and Velcro.

Skechers cooked up the bouncy HyperBurst midsole by exposing EVA to liquified carbon dioxide until it forms irregular pockets, making the material springier, lighter, and more durable than regular EVA. Other GOrun shoes, like the race-ready Razor 3, use the same midsole recipe, but extra cushioning makes the Ride 8 softer and better suited for cruising on easy runs. In the Ride 8, the foam is at its softest.

That extra weight and tall height make the shoe better for long runs and easy days rather than tight cornering on the track at high speeds, but it still feels quick and nimble enough for tempo pace. The biggest downfall of the otherwise outstanding Hoka One One Rincon was the traction and an outsole that wore down quickly.

Knit uppers usually garner some mixed feedback in testing—such was the case with the Ride 8. Personally, I liked the super snug fit through the midfoot and found that the material had just enough stretch to still feel stable on a tall stack height.

I had more than enough room in the toebox, but also have a narrow foot, and one tester indicated his pinky toes felt cramped. In my opinion, the only thing missing on the GOrun Ride 8 is a slightly lower heel-toe drop for a more responsive ride and maybe a blinky, light-up midsole. Jeremy G. As a heel striker, I felt a nice cushion when landing; the cushioning was my favorite feature overall. I always felt secure and had no issues with my foot sliding around inside the shoe.

However, the company has come a long way in a brief time proving that they are no joke. The evolution of their shoes continues to impress me and their willingness to take wear testing feedback and actually apply it is a real testament that they care about what a runner wants.

This newer foam is lighter and slightly firmer making it more responsive depending on the durometer. I was initially very worried about the upper if it would provide enough support or even hold up that well.

However, after I put them on and started running it works just fine and pairs well with the new midsole. The GoRun has an attractive plush ride and added responsiveness keeps the shoe springy and light. The midsole is lighter than the 5GEN cushioning previously used contributing to the 1. The 6 has a snappy, fast, and smooth transition.

The blending of cushioning and responsiveness makes the 6 versatibly dynamic. The outsole looks to be the same web of blown rubber identical to the 5. I had no issues with grip on any of my outings, but I question the durability.

I have logged just under miles on the shoe and the outsole is showing signs of wear. Durability seemed to plague the 5 which seems to also be the case here. Judging from this I would estimate that the shoe is good for only about miles. Its construction of varying densities of knit helped hold my foot in place surprisingly well, and provided excellent breathability.

The flat knit and sock like collar that wraps the ankle definitely had me concerned when I first unboxed the shoe. I honestly feel that one of the best parts of this upper is the padded internal heel counter. This is the keystone of the upper locking the heel in place eliminating any slippage. Shoes with similar knit uppers lacking a heel counter demonstrate a collapse in the heel compromising the fit of the shoe. After my initial apprehension over the upper of the GoRUN 6 I ended up liking this interesting update in the end.

The new FlightGEN foam combines a lot of things that make this a great versatile road shoe. The combination of cushion, responsiveness, and quick smooth transition have helped this shoe slide into my daily rotation. Often overlooked, myself included, Skechers has improved greatly over the last couple of years and are putting out some quality running shoes worth trying. I would encourage anyone to take a run in the GoRUN 6 and find out for themselves; I believe you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was.Skechers took what most runners said they want in a lightweight, neutral shoe and applied it to the race-ready GOrun 6.

Data from our test lab backed up the claim with one caveat—the GOrun 6 maintained its cushioning from the fifth generation, but lost some flexibility.

I still got a lot of energy return, and found my stride to be more efficient. Skechers also gave the shoe a new sock-like upper. The stretchy knit construction hugs the ankle much like a pair of low-rise socks, and testers were stoked.

The GOrun 6 is just about as light as earlier iterations, which makes it a strong option for speed sessions, shorter training runs, and racing.

One nice feature of the GOrun 6 is the removable insole, which can be yanked out easily if you want a bit less cushioning or more room inside. The tread on the GOrun 6 feels flat, but grips the road surprisingly well. Still, most of our testers felt that that the shoes are best for runs on pavement, sidewalks, and even the track, but not in the rain or on trails. The new sock-like upper has a lot of style, is comfortable, and breathable.

Plus, the tongue is integrated with the inner lining, giving a slightly compressive fit that feels sleek. Many testers reported that it was their favorite part of the shoe. The overall takeaway? We put each shoe through real-world usage and a battery of mechanical tests in our lab to provide you with objective—and exclusive—data. All this is taken into account in our reviews of each shoe.
